Mail Client Troubleshooting

If you having a problem to connect to your email using your mail client, Please follow the steps below:

Telnet to port 25 / 587
- How to run telnet?
Click Start > Run > type cmd and press Enter
At the command prompt type:
telnet 25 OR
telnet 587

You should see something like this:- ESMTP Exim 4.68 #1 Fri, 21 Mar 2008 04:16:49 +0000
220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,
220 and/or bulk e-mail.

If you're able to see it, means you have no problem connecting to the mail server. If you can't please send create a ticket traceroute result.

Next step:

  1. Ensure you type your domain correctly e.g (
  2. POP3 and SMTP domain must be the same (
  3. Username MUST BE
  4. Some of you might not be able to connect to outgoing smtp port 25 due to ISP blocked port 25 and you need to change outgoing server port to 587.
